St Patrick’s Day Snacks are a must in our house and my favorite among them is Leprechaun Bait Bark! It is an easy treat to take to neighbors and make with your kids!

This fun and festive St. Patrick’s Day treat is perfect to make with the kids. Call it whatever you like- Leprechaun bait, St. Patrick’s Day bark, crazy candy bark. It will get your kids excited and it’s one of my favorite things to make with my kids.

This is the perfect easy treat to make with kids for St. Patrick’s day because they can do every step of the recipe and it doesn’t have to be perfect. In fact, the more messy it is the better! Let your kids throw the candies on however they want.

If you want to get your kids involved in the kitchen, this recipe is great to make for any holiday. Here are some of the other crazy barks we make as a family. We package them up and deliver to neighbors and friends every holiday.

To make the special St. Patrick’s Day version, you will need festive candies, such as Rolo’s, or cereal like Lucky Charms. Here are my favorite toppings, but you can use any candy that you like.

  • Sour Rainbows
  • Lucky Charms Cereal
  • Rolo’s
  • Gold Sprinkles
  • Skittles
  • Rainbow Colored Licorice Rope

How to make St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun bait:

  1. Lay out graham crackers
  2. Top with melted candy melts
  3. Top with festive candy
  4. Let cool completely
  5. Break into pieces
  6. Place in cellophane bags
  7. Deliver to friends!

One quick tip with this recipe is to leave off the Rolo’s in step 3. If you were to put the Rolo’s on the candy when the chocolate is still melted, they would stick to the candy bark which would cause a big mess when trying to remove the wrapping. And no one wants to eat wrapping! So just leave that off and throw some Rolo’s in the bag with the candy bark.
