Grilled pineapple with cinnamon and brown sugar makes for a perfect side dish or top it with ice cream for a delicious dessert. Either way you won’t be disappointed!

Grilled pineapple with cinnamon and brown sugar

Caramelized, juicy, sweet pineapple makes for the perfect side dish or dessert. With hints of cinnamon and caramelized brown sugar this grilled pineapple is my all time favorite way to prepare this delicious fruit.

A couple of months ago we had a Brazilian feast with some friends and one of my friends made this cinnamon brown sugar grilled pineapple. It was amazing and I had to ask her if I could put it on the blog for you to see.

This grilled pineapple is so delicious and I can’t wait for you to try it out.

Ingredients You For Grilled Pineapple:

You only need three simple ingredients for this grilled pineapple.

Fresh Pineapple: I highly recommend to stick with fresh pineapple for this dish. Canned pineapple will fall apart on the grill and won’t hold up over high heat. It also won’t get as much of a caramelized crust on the exterior of the fruit.

Ground Cinnamon: Cinnamon adds such a sweet, slightly smoky-like flavor. It’s so delicious when it becomes caramelized from the grill.

Brown Sugar: Use brown sugar instead of granulated sugar. It will caramelize beautifully and give a richer, deeper flavor.

How To Cut Pineapple For Grilling:

You can cut the pineapple a couple of different ways.

The first is with this handy pineapple corer. Follow these simple steps to create your cored sliced pineapple.

The next way to cut the pineapple is with a serrated knife and a small round cookie cutter.

Grilled Pineapple As A Side:

One of my favorite side dishes is this grilled pineapple. It goes so well with grilled meats, chicken, or even make it to top on burgers.

As A Dessert:

What To Serve With Grilled Pineapple:

This recipe goes wonderfully with so many things. I like to serve this for Easter brunch with my Easter Honey Mustard Orange Glazed Ham or it goes perfectly with a Brazilian feast and my Picanha (The Best Brazilian Steak Recipe)

It’s great on it’s own or stuffed in my Hawaiian Style Turkey Burger Recipe. Whatever you decide to serve it with I guarantee this will become one of your favorite ways to enjoy pineapple. It takes it to a whole new level.
