Air fryer frozen french fries are quick to make and so much healthier than fried french fries. They are the perfect addition to your next weekend BBQ without heating up your house.

When you need a quick side dish, these air fryer frozen french fries come in handy. I always keep a bag of frozen french fries in my freezer because my kids love them.

One of my sons request these at least twice a week. He loves how crispy they become and asks me to specifically make them in the air fryer instead of the oven. His response is always “they are just better mommy that way.”

Well okay! Can’t disappoint a child that knows how much better crispy fries are! But honestly, I actually prefer cooking my frozen fries in the air fryer because I just have to throw them into the basket and press a button.

I have found that the air fryer is the most convenient way to cook them.

Frozen french fries in the air fryer are much easier than you probably think. All you have to do is pop them in your air fryer basket and turn the machine on. Easy peasy!

Do you need to preheat the air fryer?

I always recommend preheating the air fryer before using it. You can turn it on for just 2-3 minutes before you put your food into the basket, and it will be preheated and ready to use.

If you skip this step it isn’t the end of the world. It just ensures that your food is cooking instantly when it goes into the air fryer.

How long do you cook frozen fries in the air fryer?

No need to search for air fryer frozen french fries time. Frozen french fries take about 15 minutes to make in the air fryer.

You will want to shake the basket half-way through for even cooking. If you want extra crispy french fries, cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Needless to say cooking frozen fries this way is so much more efficient than in the oven. They become crispy and cook perfectly in the air fryer.

No more soggy frozen fries in this house!

How to cook frozen french fries in an air fryer:

This is my absolute favorite way to cook frozen french fries because in just 5 steps, they’re done!

  1. Preheat the air fryer for 2-3 minutes by turning it on to 400°F.
  2. Place fries in the air fryer basket half-way full.
  3. Turn on air fry function and set to 400°F.
  4. Cook for 15 minutes.
  5. Shake the basket half-way through the cooking process

What to season fries with:

Fries are really like a blank canvas. My favorite seasoning is just plain Kosher salt. Need some more flavor? You can also use seasoned salt.

Another favorite is to combine 1 tablespoon brown sugar + 1 teaspoon chili powder + 1 teaspoon salt and use that as a seasoning. It’s slightly sweet and smokey and perfect for fries.

For an herby twist combine fresh chopped rosemary, thyme, lemon zest and salt and toss with the hot fries.

Or better yet melt some truffle butter, toss the hot fries in the melted butter and top with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese.

If you need some inspiration with what dish to serve these fries, my Air Fryer Chicken Legs are the perfect match. They go perfectly with the fries and are great for a quick summer dinner.
